A Note About SVU Episode Promo Videos on YouTube

YouTube has now blocked from viewing many of my Law & Order SVU episode promo videos (many going back to season 15). I am not alone; others are also seeing their promo videos blocked for copyright claims. The blocking is occurring in the U.S. and Canada. I’ve chosen to remove these videos from my YouTube channel to avoid any possible copyright claims which could possibly affect my account. Thankfully, I had already archived these videos so I still have them for reference purposes. (We can never forget the infamous “lick my boot” promo from the SVU episode “Shadow.”)

I apologize for any inconvenience to my readers. I am not sure if this will affect any promos I get for season 19 but I will post whatever I can (from wherever I can get it)!

YouTube is such a Nazi with SVU... never let's ANYTHING on unless it's official or you can't hear it.

@Js Mc Fail & @Draven Long - I've been saying this for many, many years (even before my blog started) that the NBC people make it VERY difficult to promote their shows. All of a sudden, after videos being up for years, they clamp down on it. They've even hassled me on videos that they themselves gave to me. It's not like I am making any money at all on any of this stuff (I make nothing at all); I would understand if they objected to the videos if I was. And it's not like I'm uploading episodes or big chunks of episodes. These are promos - by their nature one would think that it would only help to promote their shows and help THEM make money. The networks may be big companies but that doesn't mean all the people there are very intelligent (wink)!

Sorry For My Language But Hell Yeah Chris Should Get A Pay Check!! I Care As Much About The Recaps As I Do The Show. The First Thing After Watching SVU That Comes To Mind Besides Chicago PD Is Thinking About Chris Recap The Next Day! Like With My Music I Just Don't Post It On YouTube Even Though I Get The Songs From YouTube, But Certain Bands Like Most Ozzy Osbourne Songs Don't Have A Million Views Cause His Wife Sharon Has Videos Taken Down, And Not To Change Topic A Bit But She Is The Reason In 2009 When Black Sabbath Had Another Vocalist They Changed Their Name From Black Sabbath To Heaven And Hell. Anyway To Get Back On Topic I'm Agreeing With 2 People Who Commented On The Top Comments After My And As For You Chris You Have A Great Amount Of Fans Here Who Whether We Agree With Your Recaps Or Not We Will Always Want To Know What They Say! And You Must Spend Hours A Night Not To Make Yourself Look Smart But To Make Us Happy Fans Of Yours!! Have A Great Weekend Chris And Everyone Else Here Who Commented!!

@Chris, have you written to NBC marketing about this?

@Gah-Kai Leung - this has happened more than once in the past and I've had zero luck in getting this changed with NBC. In many cases, I get the videos direct from the network with their approval to post, but NBCUniversal still yanks them after a period of time. So I've gotten to the point that it isn't worth my time to fight that battle with them - it's like talking to a wall!
